Open Door Church

Loving God, Loving Others, Sharing the Peace of Christ in and around Lexington

What we believe

Open Door is one church with multiple expressions committed to loving God, loving others, and sharing the peace of Christ in and around Lexington. We seek to do that by opening our doors to anyone that needs family and opening our hands to give freely and do good. Learn more.

Seven Minute sermon for Home Churches

For our Seven Minute Sermons in August, we are going to share a THROWBACK series to 2022 when Plowshares took time to look at a Culture of Generosity. This topic fits well with our own vision this year of Generous Community.

You will hear Plowshares referred to in these sermons, however, the culture of Plowshares and Open Door are the same, which is why we joined together and became one!

For other sermons in this series, check out our Vimeo channel or Facebook page. We’d love to hear from you! Share your thoughts, comments, and questions at office@opendoorlex.org.

Generous Community

Throughout 2025, Open Door Church will seek to live into our vision for being a generous community as we give generously of our time, our treasure, and our talents. During the third quarter of this year, starting in July, we will be imagining together what it looks like to practice generous community in how we think, act, and serve.

Our Values

Our mission at Open Door is to love God, love others, and share the peace of Christ in and around Lexington. Our values are what shape how we fulfill that mission. This fall, we will be examining our big family values (BIC Core Values), our Open Door Value statements and the Scriptural foundations that guide them so that we can create a healthy culture and better live out our mission in community together.

We’d love to see you! We’re located at 749 Addison Ave & Home Churches in and around Lexington.
